The garments for this show are being designed and produced in Omaha, NE. We are fortunate to have some amazing local children's wear designers who have large scale production capabilities. We are working with these talented people right now to create a large assortment of garments to meet a variety of tastes and size requirements. Here's what you can expect:

Three fashion shows over two days to accommodate a variety of activity and nap schedules. You select your show time and date when you register your child. Registration includes a free training session and garment from the Kids Rule wardrobe.

Check in of your model will begin at first listed time and runway show will start one hour later. While your kid is getting dressed, photographed, and practicing backstage, you can grab a drink, shop our Pop Up Shop Market, and if you select VIP, grab some hors d'oeuvres from the VIP Lounge!
Tickets to shows are additional. Each model registration requires at least one ticket purchased. VIP and reserved tickets are available with prices ranging from $40-80. Special pricing is available for children attending. Children under 2 may sit on a parents lap without a ticket.
*Each show requires a minimum of 50 model registrations. If registrations are not met we will invite registered models to join another showtime.

What is included in a model registration?
Registered models will select a garment, designed for the Kids Rule Fashion Show and produced in Omaha, which they will keep after the show. They also receive the Modeling Workshop Session experience on February 17, complete with runway practice, coaching from Develop Model Management on stage presence, walking with confidence, and posing for photos. Lastly, and our favorite, your model gets to rule the runway during their show!
What do I need in addition to the model registration?
Tickets for your model's fan club! These can be purchased at the time of registration or later. Each model registration requires the purchase of at least one ticket, however, we suggest purchasing tickets for the entire fan club at one time so you can all sit together! Tickets start at $40 for adults.
What ages are models for this show?
We accept children ages 5-12. All participants must be potty-trained and comfortable being backstage without parents during the show.
Will my child get paid to model in this show?
No, your child will not be paid to model in this show. This show is designed to be a fun, confidence building experience for your child.
What about shoes?
Each model will provide their own shoes. You will receive your garment during the Modeling Workshop Session on February 17 so you have time to select the perfect shoes to accompany the outfit. Your child should be comfortable and safe walking in their shoes. If they are new, be sure your child practices several times wearing the shoes prior to hitting the runway during shows!
Can parents accompany kids backstage?
No. We do not allow parents backstage due to limited space and a need to keep the kids focused on having a great time in this show.
What will you do with all those kids before and during the show?
Good question!! We have lots of fun activities planned for the kids to keep them busy while they wait to walk the runway. We will have activity stations for crafts, movies and runway practice. We will also have professional photographers snapping a photo backstage which you may purchase as a keepsake. Nut-free snacks will also be available backstage.
What is the drop off/pick up procedure?
We require that you show a government issued photo ID upon dropping off your child. The ID photo must match the parent or guardian doing drop off. The same parent who is dropping off must also pick up the child. We will write down your ID number when you check in backstage and reference it before releasing your child.
Will there be hair stylists backstage?
Yes, we will have a team of hair stylists available to do touch ups (NOT elaborate up-dos) on your child's hair. Please bring your child with clean, dry hair, styled in a way that you would be comfortable seeing on the runway. Again, there won't be time for elaborate up-dos. Additionally, our stylists will not do makeup applications.
Can my child wear makeup?
Ultimately, that is your decision as a parent. We prefer to see each child's natural beauty shine on the runway! The Kids Rule styling team will not apply makeup for these shows.
Can I take photos during the show?
ABSOLUTELY! Snap away and share those fabulous images with our hashtag: #kidsruleomaha. We just ask that you are considerate of other audience members...as long as your snaps don't impede anyone else's view, we're cool with it.
Will there be professional photos available for purchase?
Yes! Our professional photographers will be capturing photos backstage. Links to purchase these photos will be made available by the photographers post-show so that you can view the image before purchasing.
Can I take my garment home between the Modeling Workshop Session and the show?
Yes! You will pick up your garment after your kid practices on the runway during the Modeling Workshop Session on February 17, 2018. This will give you time to select shoes and accessories as well as make any necessary alterations prior to the show. Be sure to remember all of these items day-of-show!
Does Kids Rule Fashion Show provide alterations?
Can my child sit with me after he or she has walked?
No. Children will remain checked in backstage with their collection through the duration of the show.
Are boys allowed to participate?
Yes! We are very excited to include boys in this fun experience!
Will there be dressing rooms backstage?
Yes. We will have twelve private dressing rooms backstage so that each child walking in a collection has a private place to change.
What will the volunteer situation be backstage?
We can accommodate up to 12 kids in each collection. Two volunteers will be assigned to each collection to maintain a 6:1 kid-volunteer ratio. The Junior League will provide volunteers who will ensure kids are safe, comfortable and having fun backstage. Additionally, plainclothes female security guards will be present to monitor all entrances and exits into backstage.
Can I send special items backstage with my child?
Yes. Your child will be provided with a Kids Rule tote bag that he or she should use to keep personal items safe backstage. Models will place their street garments in these bags for safekeeping backstage, along with any snacks or comfort items they need. Volunteers will keep track of these bags for the models.
What time will my Modeling Workshop Session be?
The Modeling Workshop Session will take place Feb. 17 and is required. Time will be assigned to models in the order they registered and announce to parents via email by Feb 3. The day will begin at 10am and each model will receive an individual start time. Parents should anticipate their session will take about 1 hour. Models who miss this session will pick up their garment day-of-show. Parents will have a breakout session to answer any remaining questions to prepare their child for the runway!
Who will be doing the runway training during Wardrobe & Workshop?
Our friends from Develop Model Management will be leading the runway training!
What time does my child need to check in backstage?
You will be provided with a backstage check in time during the Modeling Workshop. Models will check in by collection. If you registered your child for a 2pm show, check-in will begin at 1:30pm and the runway show will start at 3pm. If you registered for a 6pm show, check-in will begin at 5:30pm and the runway show will begin at 7pm.
Where do I check my child in to backstage?
We will go over backstage procedures in great detail during our Feb. 17 Modeling Workshop.
What is the parking situation like at the Omaha Design Center?
We have extensive free parking around the building. VIP ticket holders receive free valet...just roll up to the red carpet and present your ticket. Reserved ticket holders can also valet for a $10 fee.
